Did you know you may be eligible to apply for Australian permanent residency without being directly sponsored by a nominating employer? The Skilled Independent visa (subclass 189) or Skilled Nominated visa (subclass 190) maybe an alternate pathway for some eligible overseas skilled talent.
Currently, invitation numbers for the visa subclass 189 has increased from 600 to approximately 1000 per month. This welcomed increase comes after recent changes to the required points for eligibility, which was raised from 60 to 65.
The subclass 189 and 190 visa applications are points-based assessments determined by occupation, age, qualifications, work experience, English language and residing state. An expression of interest is first submitted to SkillSelect, then we will wait for an invitation from the Department of Home Affairs before we submit an application for permanent residency.
This pathway for Permanent residency is often preferred by applicants currently outside Australia or in lieu of a nominating employer.
Invitation rounds are anticipated to run on the 11th day of each month.
